13,758 PointsPasting doesn't seem to work in the current workspace. Neither is it possible to enter a password and connect to Github.
Is this a known problem? And if so, is there a solution?

4,529 PointsYes the pasting has a bug that is making it act weird but it cool if you highlight the text and instead of just using CTRL+C right click on the highlighted text and you see an option of copy then do so and go to terminal and then also right click and you'd see option of paste. And please don't expect the "password" to show. Just keep typing your password and when you done press the enter key. I hope this helps

14,940 PointsJames, that works for you? Because right clicking and copying is what I usually do habitually and it doesn't work for me. I found no other way but to manually type the link into the console.

Python Development Techdegree Student 13,154 PointsHaving 20 letter&number password here, getting invalid username or password. I'm really trying to carefully type it all in since Copy & Paste isn't behaving. What's the workaround? I'm signed in to GitHub everywhere but trying to manually type into workspace console/Bash terminal is authentication failed. I do have multi factor auth.

Python Development Techdegree Student 13,154 PointsAnother question answered my comment. I was able to create a personal access token through Github developer settings granting access to certain parameters. This personal access token stood in for my password successfully.

20,250 PointsDoes anyone else have a problem to type the password? I can't copy and paste and tried most of the solutions here but nothings worked. I have the option to type my username but once the cursor goes to the password there is no option to type. With right button there is no option to paste and the Ctrl+V does not work. Any solution?

Nicholas Wallen
12,278 PointsIt doesn't actually connect to GitHub though. You enter in the URL, just like it shows you in the video, and once you hit return, it says "fatal: Not a git repository"
Jay McGavren
Treehouse TeacherNicholas Wallen I think you may have a separate issue. If you're still having trouble, can you start an entirely new community forum thread/question? Be sure to include as many details as possible, including the entire command you're attempting to run.
Nick Huemmer
Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 26,840 PointsI get this same error.

14,984 PointsIt didn't prompt for a username or password in my case. I know this isn't an answer to your question, but I was wondering knows why?
