Wrong number of prints?

For some reason it gives me the error of wrong number of prints, but i feel like my code runs fine. Have a made a mistake somehow?

even.py 
import random

start = 5

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2

while start:
  rand = random.randint(1, 99)
  if even_odd(rand):
    print("{} is even".format(rand))
  else:
    print("{} is odd".format(rand))
    start -= 1

You need your while loop to stop. So declare it like this.

while start != 0:

That way when your start variable increments down to zero your while loop will finish. :)

Ah, just noticed.

Your decrement is within your else clause. That means it is not decrementing with even numbers. ;)

Bring it outside of that and it works. :D

while start != 0:
    rand = random.randint(1, 99)
    if even_odd(rand):
        print("{} is even".format(rand))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(rand))
    start -= 1  # this needs to be outside the else clause.
