They wanted you to put the while loop outside of the even_odd function and use that function in your while loop to evaluate if the number is even.
You code would look like this in that case.
import random
start = 5
def even_odd(num):
return not num % 2
while start > 0:
rand_num = random.randint(1, 99)
if even_odd(rand_num): # Using the function here rather than checking ourself.
print("{} is even".format(rand_num))
else:
print("{} is odd".format(rand_num))
start -= 1
Good work with the while loop though. It was spot on! :)

''' import random start = 5 def even_odd(num): # If % 2 is 0, the number is even. # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not. while start > 0: rand_num = random.randint(1, 99) if rand_num % 2 == 0: print("{} is even".format(rand_num)) else: print("{} is odd".format(rand_num))
start -= 1
