are we supposed to be practicing in the workspace or where do we practice beside the exercises? meaning I watch the videos and do the work but I want to have more practice and the video said not to use Eclipse or other sources

Hi Ofek!

When you are on the treehouse website, you can use the workspaces. It is a really good tool to use. If you are following the Java track, there is a course that is on Local Development Environments. In that course, Craig introduces IntelliJ, but you can use any IDE that you want.

Basically it is your choice! It does not matter. It is just that if you want a solid learning exprerience, you should use the workspaces, because they do not have auto complete, and you type everything yourself. Once you are comfortable with the syntax, then it becomes more important that you are efficient, so you should use an IDE.

In terms of IDEs I would recommend IntelliJ or Eclipse, but that is just my opinion, it is your choice.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! :)
