if we purchased the hosting for students and did the one click install then we dont have to worry about the local wordpress development set up right?

15,543 PointsMelissa, You would only need to set up local development for Wordpress if you wanted to test out your wordpress settings, designs, pages, etc... before actually pushing it to the server and making it available for the public to see.

That's correct. Local development can be helpful though when you start making more sites and you don't want to edit them on an environment that other people can get to. As you build more and more sites Local Development becomes a great tool. I use ServerPress to do all my Local Development and then use the tools built into ServerPress to push it to a live WordPress install on my server with my hosting provider. Hope this helps!
