Wordpress Development Track: Should I start this track?

I have completed the web development track, some of the PHP development track and have completed my own Wordpress theme. I wonder if I should start the Wordpress track next or would it cover a lot of what I have already learned.. or should I continue with PHP, then wordpress/drupal theme development?

Just looking for a little guidance!

Hello!

I have not completed Wordpress development track, but it seems to impart some knowledges that you already have (themes creation, basic website creation, etc). Probably, if you don't want to repeat that, you can get some parts of the track, and just ignore some courses; There are some interesting courses of Wordpress plugins development, SEO optimization, among others, and it would be necessary and very interesting if you're planning to create a highly customized Wordpress website.

Continuing with PHP is also a great option. Note that Wordpress plugins are created in PHP so if you have a higher PHP level, you will be able to create more amazing things ;)

My recommendation is to take Wordpress courses that arouse your interest, and just if you feel that you need to consolidate your previous Wordpress knowledge, or you think that you missed something, take all the track.

I would highly recommend taking all the courses in WordPress Development track if you want to be a WordPress developer.

You'll be learning and applying new skills since the projects you'll work on wuill have the HTML and CSS files supplied.

You'll learn

  • Custom Theme Development
  • The Template Hierarchy
  • PHP specific to using WordPress
  • Using Bootstrap with WordPress Themes
  • Plugin Development

All of which are important skillsets for WordPress Development.
