WordPress and job

WordPress theme customization(or something) from a paid source.

So I have this client..

And I never did WP theme customization.. Basically everything is there, but you need to import some pages, and what's the most problem get everything working the correct way..

I'm using Visual Composer, as that's the default, and I must say I learned quite a bit about all of this in general.. and I figured out quite a bit of stuff.. but then.. there is just soo many little things, that I have no idea how to do it at the moment.

I think someone that has experience in WordPress in all areas( not like me, I was ignorant about it.. there's more to it than I though.. now I know), then I'm sure for someone that would be easy peasy.

My question is, if someone would be interested in this.

I would give more details in private about it.

If you're interested and wan't more information, then you can comment below.

Hi Kevin Korte xd please could you help me with this? xd I know, I know.. But I didn't knew he was going to make this move.. because the 'deal' was different, and he just bough a theme, and I never did that stuff, I could do this with coding but learninv visual composer and all that stuff is another learning curve which I figured out some of it, I don't think I can't figure it out, but it's about time xd

I could give you whatever he gives me, I don't care about money at this stage but just to get some experience. If I pass this I will be able to do front-end stuff for two of his other sites which is the main work I'm looking for, and will learn more things about bootstrap and Sass as that's what he wants. The site is super small on WP. If you have time xd

Just in short. Thanks :D

I actually learned how to use the stuff. In fact now there are two clients. They are basically paying me for me to learn on the subject they want lol

But the experience from the first project came handy. I love this. They pay you to learn. Absolutely love it.

In UK you need 850dollars per month.

That's very realistic with upwork. That's either 85hours in a month for 10pounds, I did 6 hours so fa on the particular site.

Or few projects with fixed price. say 400dollars. 3projects.

When expanding, this can be a serious job. Just need to learn more WP coding. Since upwork is crazy for wordpress.

Will write more later xd a lot of stuff to do.

There is a lot of 'figuring out' - heart rate goes up hehe

Aurelian,

I'll have to respectfully decline the offer, but I appreciate you reaching out to me. The timing just doesn't work out for me - I'm currently not looking for any new jobs, as I'm nearing the launch of my service as a website, I'm all hands on deck with that project. Plus, I have no familiarity with Visual Composer, and haven't used wordpress in 18 months or better, it would take more time than I have to familiarize myself again with everything.

I can offer some advice though. If you haven't already, talk to him, and offer to do what you did for me. First, be honest with the guy, but don't apologize. Just tell him that you are not familiar with VC, and that you're probably not his guy, as you don't want to spend his money learning something new. He should appreciate that you're not taking advantage of him in that way. If he reacts negatively, cut him loose right there, tell him to find someone else. If he's understanding, offer to find a developer with the very specific knowledge he needs, and you'll work with that developer, since you still speak the lingo to get the project done. You can set up the bid request on sites like Upwork, hire a dev, get the job done. Let's say your clients budget is $500, you might offer the job for $350, and if you get the job done for $350, you keep the $150 for managing the job.

He shouldn't care who did the work, or how it got done, just that it got done correctly, and on budget. I have ended up using Upwork myself at work to hire developers to do specific things for me, cause I can hire decent developers for less than it costs my work to pay me to do it. It's why I don't freelance on Upwork. I'm not going to work for $15 an hour, but the cost of living for others in places like India are much less than the UK or the US, so they're willing to work for that or less, and most do a good job.

You'll come across this situation as you continue to freelance, so this is a good first one. Overcome and adapt. Good luck, and thanks again!
