without using `git rm`

After deleting the file (rm tin.html), I did git add . and then git commit -m "message" and apparently I achieved the same result without using git rm

Is that a correct approach?

Git rm saves you from having to type the rm command by itself and then having to use the git add. It's a command that combines these two commands together to achieve the same process. Which is therefore more efficient.
