why promptForGuess() will have to return a boolean value?

if promptForGuess() returns nothing, the program still works. is there a reason for letting promptForGuess() return a value?

I may be mistaken, but i'm pretty sure promptForGuess() is considered to be a constructor of another parent class. By nature constructors don't need to return anything. They just establish attributes and values.
