I've noticed certain Java textbook authors (Deitel) use printf also, but my college professors want us to use println. Since someone made the design choice to use printf in this tutorial I was hoping to hear the rationale. Thanks!

24,512 PointsThe printf method can be incredibly useful when displaying multiple variables in one line -- which would be tedious using string concatenation.

11,994 PointsIn prinf you do not have to write the float and strings and decimals and you can use placeholders: %s, %d, %f and assign it in the end.
