JavaScript JavaScript Array Iteration Methods Array Manipulation Practice filter()

Why my code is not working here?

Using the filter method on the years array, return an array of only the years in the twentieth century (remember: the twentieth century includes the year "2000"). See the comments for the correct result. Store the new array in the variable century20.

// century20 should be: [1989, 2000, 1999, 1973] // Write your code below

app.js
const years = [1989, 2015, 2000, 1999, 2013, 1973, 2012];
let century20 = years.filter(year =>  year <= 2000);

// century20 should be: [1989, 2000, 1999, 1973]
// Write your code below

Hi Hanwen!

You have the same issue here.

As usual, your code is fine (technically correct in the real world), but to pass, you need to assign your filter results to century20 on a separate line.

The challenges are kind of ornery that way!?! LOL

This passes:

const years = [1989, 2015, 2000, 1999, 2013, 1973, 2012];
let century20;

// century20 should be: [1989, 2000, 1999, 1973]
// Write your code below
century20 = years.filter(year =>  year <= 2000);

I hope that helps.

Stay safe and happy coding!

It passed now!! Glad to know my code would technically be correct in the real world LOL. Thank you, Peter
