899 PointsWhy isn't this 'if' statement working working? The exercise keeps saying 'Bummer: Try again!'
I'm doing exactly as I am told, and exactly as Craig did in the video. Why is it not working?
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
System.exit(0);
}

Treehouse TeacherHi there, Seán Kennedy! Close, but not quite. While the System.exit(0)
might have been shown in the video, but it was not asked for in this challenge. In general, it's a great idea to try not`to do anything not explicitly asked for by the challenge. I think the problem here might be that it's exiting before it has graded your code
Simply removing the System.exit(0)
causes your code to pass the first step of the challenge so well done!
