Why isn't max-width: 940px; not a correct answer?

My question says it all

The problem from your code is that you forgot to add the hash # before the wrapper. Remember when targeting ID element, we always give it hash # and class a perido. Something like this

#wrapper{
  max-width: 940px;
  margin: 0 auto; // to center the element in the middle of the page. 0 for top and bottom and auto for left to right.

}
