Take your parenthesis away on your return statement:

return num1 + num2

I did that although i got this message: add returned the wrong results

This code passed:

def add(num1, num2):

    float(num1)
    float(num2)
    return num1 + num2

strangely it is still giving me the error

Try restarting your workspace and see if that helps.

i found that if i do this code:

def add(num1, num2):

 return float(num1) + float(num2)

I pass the code challenge
