33,235 PointsWhy is my web page different to Guil's?
Hi.
When I refresh my page in Chrome, it's not the same as Guil's? Does anyone know why? Here's my snapshot:
Thanks
Sean

33,235 PointsHi Marc and Konrad. Sorry for the lengthy delay, but I've been busy wading through my style.css to iron out all the creases, shall we say. I've been very thorough. I watched the Relative Positioning video very carefully and paused it for several long times so I could straighten out my coding. I saved and refreshed and the result now is much better than it was before.
I could link to my preview but I'd be the only one who could see my web page; I've tried it before.
Thank you both.
Sean :-)

2,435 PointsHI,
There are few things could not work. Either the code of the website may be written wrong. Either the code is outdated or changed somethow. Either your using different version of browser .
Maybe some of these, check them .
Hope this helps somehow.

35,550 PointsIn what way is it different? From the snapshot I can see all the code but I can't see the site, are you able to post screen shots of what your seeing?

33,235 PointsHi Marc.
By 'different' I mean that the four link items go off the top of my monitors so I can just barely see the bottom of them. This will probably sound ridiculous. I can take screenshots by pressing PrtScr but when I press Ctrl V to paste them into my messages, nothing happens, even though that tactic is fine for emails. If you can show me how to paste images in Treehouse messages, I'd be most grateful. I've tried forking it if that's of any use. Will I need to take snapshots of the forked workspace as well?
Cheers
Sean :-)

2,435 PointsI believe there is some code error then. Try to paste the Guil's styles into ur styles and see if it wokrs. If it does, u have an error and you shall find it :)

35,550 PointsCan you not just link to your worksheet preview?
Marc Busby
35,550 PointsI always paste them into Photoshop or MS Paint I've never tried pasting them directly into treehouse, it likely doesn't allow it. If the links are jumping off the page though its like Konrad says, most likely a CSS error somewhere, probably margins. Have you tried running the browser console and debugging the div that the links appear in and possibly the div's below it?
Marc Busby
35,550 PointsNo worries I'm glad you got it resolved. Out of interest what was causing it?

33,235 PointsWhen you watch the video, there are two identical comment lines for the header, banner and footer. One was for the main rules, the other under Media Queries. I think I might have got the rules mixed up. I changed the margins and padding. Also, I changed the display mode of the .main-nav a and .main-logo a elements to 'block'.
Although it's not perfect, (the primary-content and extra-content divs overlap when I restore down and shrink the width to see if it'll fit on a mobile device), I'm seeing a substantial improvement.
Cheers
Sean :-)

33,235 PointsThis is my first attempt to display a screenshot so pardon me if it doesn't work; I'll keep trying till I get it right.
