why is it showing name is not defined?

NameError: name is not defined?

trial.py 
def add(x,y) :
    try:
        x=float(x)
        y=float(y)
        total=x+y
        return total

    except Valueerror:
           return None
    else:
           return total

Hi, @debasisnath !

Well an error happens because of the space between function and colon.

Also Check all the indentation. And look at this:

try:
    # Tries to do something
except Error:
    # Goes here if gets error
else:
    # Gets here only if no exception AND try doesnt have return or any other stopper like abort.

I think the problem may be "valueerror" instead of "ValueError"
