Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types Use .split() and .join()

Why doesn't this split() work?

Hi,

can anyone spot a mistake with why this doesn't work?

I've used it in another console and it's been fine.

Thank you :)

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"

sundaes = available.split(';')

menu = "Our available flavors are: {}."
display_menu= menu.format(", ".join(sundaes))

it works but you are not doing exactly what the challenge asks. you are supposed to reassign the value of menu.

Hope this helps, below is the one line answer.

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = ("Our available flavors are: {}." ).format(", ".join(sundaes))
