If the provider you're using has a GUI that comes with it,
it is often helpful to open that and watch the machine, since the
GUI often has more helpful error messages than Vagrant can retrieve.
For example, if you're using VirtualBox, run vagrant up
while the
VirtualBox GUI is open.
I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit, Virtual Box v4.3.14r95030

9,495 PointsI got the same problem when I upgraded Virtualbox to the latest version. What I had to do was go to the drivers folder for virtualbox (in my case, C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\drivers), then go into the \USB\filter folder and right click VBoxUSBMon.inf and select install, then the \vboxdrv\ folder and right click VBoxDrv.inf and select install.
I hear some have solved it by trying to repair the virtualbox install, while others have downgraded their virtualbox version and got it working.
Hopefully some of this works :)
