Why does Xcode crash when adding a new playground page?

Every time I add a "New Playground Page" to an existing playground, Xcode locks up then crashes. I've searched Apple's developer forums, stack overflow, and google and could not find an explanation. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Xcode to no help.

Is there a setting I need to change to ensure this does not happen in the future?

Sadly, there isn't much you can do. Playgrounds have been buggy for a while. The most you can do is file a radar and hope it get resolved.
