231,268 PointsWhen you input something on a page, you keyboard is usually in one of two modes, "insert" or "replace". Insert mode pushes back existing text as you type, and replace mode types over existing text (removing it). It sounds like you start out in "replace" mode.
But the purpose of the "insert" button on your keyboard is to switch back and forth between those modes — and it sounds like it is working correctly.

2,728 PointsI made a typo in my question. I meant to say that this was happening even when I hadn't pressed insert. I would get the issue and press insert to toggle back to "insert" mode in case I had mistakenly toggled into "replaced" mode but nothing would happen. I would have to close the console in order to fix it. It was driving me crazy because it was slowing me down :). I'm currently on the introduction to pandas module and not using workspace. I will reply here if I face the same issue when I'm using workspace again.
