I know it may be a bit stupid, but why doesn't it works like this
.then(function(response) {
this.setState({
gifs: response.data.data,
loading: false
})
})
But works like this?
.then(response => {
this.setState({
gifs: response.data.data,
loading: false
})
})
The difference lays in the function syntax

in the function. Arrow function inherits this
from it's scope, it doesn't have it's own this
. So this.setState
is going to break if you use the traditional function. This section of the MDN docs explains this concept in more detail.
