Why does my PHP show the bottom HTML element even when my condition is not met. plz help

I'm trying to make it not show Hal's favorite flavor when it's not the same as $flavor which it isn't but it still shows.

index.php
<?php
$flavor = "vanilla";
echo "<p>Your favorite flavor of ice cream is ";
echo $flavor;
echo ".</p>";
if ($flavor == "cookie dough");
{
  echo "<p>Hal's favorite flavor is cookie dough, also!</p>";
}

?>

Hi Jonathan,

It looks like you have an extra semi-colon at the end of the if conditional line. I think if you remove that it will work.

if($flavor == "cookie dough") {
echo "<p>Hal's favorite flavor is cookie dough, also!</p>";
}

Happy coding!

That's it. Thanks! I won't make that mistake again
