Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java Strings, Variables, and Formatting

Why does it say I didn't do what I was supposed to do when it outputs my name?

Am I not supposed to place the "%s" there and just put my name? What am I doing wrong?

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
String firstName = "Jasmine Davis";
console.printf("%s", firstName);

Hello Jasmine,

You are right! Your code does run successfully.

It just doesn't match exactly what is in the challenge directions.

Your code outputs just your name: "Jasmine Davis"

They want you to output more than just your name. They want you to output: "<YOUR NAME> can code in Java!"

So your output will look like this exactly: "Jasmine Davis can code in Java!"

So you need to add "can code in Java!" to the output.

If it still doesn't make sense, let me know and I will give you another hint.

Happy Coding! Heidi

Wow, thank you so much!
