Bummer! Be sure you're only setting the width on every 4th line?
If I set the width only on every 4th line it says task 1 is wrong. If I leave the width changing on every line from task one it says task 2 is wrong. Confused how to fix this is this a bug?

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 33,271 Pointsnth-child(3) only targets the third child, not every 3rd child. for that you need 3n. when it says a previous task is no longer passing it usually means you have an error in the current task. 4n would be every 4th, 4 would be the 4th only. 3n + 2 would be every 3rd, starting at the 2nd, etc.

16,807 PointsInteresting thank you for your explanation now it works. I got confused and thought:
gallery li:nth-child(3) {
clear: left; }
was correct as when I entered that the error message changed. I would have thought:
gallery li:nth-child(4) {
clear: left; }
would have changed the error message rather then having it set as 3.
Also my interpertation of:
@media screen and (min-width: 480px) { #gallery li { width: 28.3333%; }
#gallery li:nth-child(4n) { clear: left; }
}
would be that
gallery li {
width: 28.3333%; }
gives width 28.3333% to all gallery list items and that:
gallery li:nth-child(4n) {
clear: left; }
clears float on left side on every 4th list item?
So why does the error say Bummer! Be sure you're only setting the width on every 4th line?
Am I not setting the width on every line? Hopefully that all make sense and someone can explain why?
Thanks,
James
