Design Adobe Illustrator for Web Design Save for the Web Export Multiple Artboards

Why do the icons show up in the left corner of a large document instead of smaller when I open them after saving as svg?

I can open them just fine in Illustrator. If I open them from the Finder to Preview them it just shows a large white document with the icon only in the upper left corner and a LOT of white space.

Is this shortcut method of saving files only good for a certain version of Illustrator? I have CS6 version 16.0.

Thanks

This is just the way svg files are saved. When you go to use the svg file in your html document you will not see the white space.

Thanks for the response. I searched the web and found others had the same problem. It may just have to do with this version of CSS, my OSX, or something. I dug a little deeper and found that if I saved the social icons individually instead of trying to save all three at the same time they save correctly and the millions of miles of extra white space on the right and below them were completely eliminated, as it should be.

I verified it in Adobe Bridge when I noticed that I could see ONLY the symbol that I was supposed to and not a complete page of white (not the usual white space shown in corners around crevices).

I also verified it by previewing it in a browser.

I simply exported them individually. But for some reason they STILL show up weird in the finder. Must be a glitch.

Thanks for the reply.
