6,387 PointsI use an IDE while following along with the courses, makes code challenges easy. You don't really need to know the in-depth features and debugging of an IDE when you are just starting out. A lot of these courses are designed for 100% beginners. I would say i'm a novice to intermediate myself so I just use an IDE and create side projects based off the stuff I learn in the videos.
Overall it is just less barriers to entry for a new person. The idea of downloading, setting up and then having no clue what anything is might be a turn off.
