why cant i cast the int to a String?

Can i not cast the return value from mSpaceship.getNumPassengers(); to String?

Try using this formating:

mPassengersField.setText(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "");

I hope it helps, during the lessons we got this way to approch the conversion from int to String.
