Why aren't the add and commit commands I just learned working for this question?

I'm prompted to commit all changes to a file. I've tried each of these individually:

git add .
git commit -m "message here"
git commit -am "message here"
git add --all

Not sure why any of those don't work...

Hello,

You need to do this:

git commit -a -m "Second commit"

The first flag is for all and the second is the required message flag.
