You're missing the equal sign for your alt
attribute on all of your gallery images.
Example:
<img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt"">
I would suggest fixing that first and then we can look at the css if it's still a problem.

I updated all my alt attributes to include the = sign, but I am still seeing gray text instead of green in the captions.
