What platform are you using? and what version of GitHub Desktop UI are you using?

The most likely scenario is that the version of GitHub Desktop UI in the tutorial and what you have may be different.

Github is a very active company, so their software update schedule is frequent. The Treehouse lesson video that is merely a few month old when published could be showing the previous or previous two version software UI.

I am having the same issue. The appearance in Github on my desktop is very different from what it looks like in the tutorial. The next video makes it even harder to follow along because there are options in the tutorial that are not available on my side. But following along the best I can, hopefully I don't run into a problem later on because of this.

Hello Ikuyasu, I wasn't asking a rhetorical question, if the tutorial can't be used because of differences in the Github Desktop UI then I would suggest an issue be raised with support.
