1,607 PointsWhy am I getting this this error message?
I recently created a child theme for twenty seventeen and activated it while on my live admin. I then realized I should pick a better theme to customise and activated zerif-lite. However after I did this and clicked somewhere on the live admin I got this message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'function' (T_FUNCTION) in /home/nicoelkp/patternsessions.com/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/inc/jetpack.php on line 1
Now every time I type my URL 'patternsessions.com' into my browser I get the same message. Could someone tell me how to fix this?

20,259 PointsI'd try to isolate the problem by narrowing down "suspects." What I'd do in that situation is either activate another theme (the older Wordpress Themes), deactivate jetpack, reinstall a fresh zerif-lite... etc.

1,607 PointsI fixed this by deleting the Zerif theme out of my child theme folder so that theme was the problem. Thanks!
