976 PointsWhere do you throw the lapsDriven and barCount exception in the java objects challenge?
The error keeps specifying to place before the barCount and lapsDriven fields are computed. Which makes no sense to me. Need assistance.
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private String color;
private int barCount;
private int lapsDriven;
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
public void drive() {
drive(1);
}
public void drive(int laps) {
lapsDriven += laps;
barCount -= laps;
if (barCount < lapsDriven) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not Enough Bars");
}
}
}

Courses Plus Student 18,771 PointsThe exception should be thrown where the issue is likely to occur. In this case, the exception would be caused by trying to do more laps than you have bars for. So you want to throw the exception in the drive method:
public void drive(int laps) {
//if you want to drive more laps than you have bars for
//throw exception
lapsDriven += laps;
barCount -= laps;
}
