Where do I put the try block?

I'm confused both on where to put the try block and what to put into it.

trial.py 
def add(one, two):
try:

    a = float(one)
    b = float(two)
    return a + b

Check your indentation. The try and matching except should be indented the same:

def add(one, two):
    try:  # indented to be inside of function code block
        a = float(one)
        b = float(two)
    except...: # indented the same as try
        # code needed here
  return a + b
