Data Analysis Techdegree Student 2,633 PointsWhere did FontAwesome come from? How do we use it/How do we set it up? How do we get/use icons in AdobeXD to do lesson?
We were told that a drawback of XD is that it doesn't have pre-packaged icons, but then are never taught how to get UI templates / icons. Now the very next lesson is a "practice" but in the solution Anwar's pulling in from FontAwesome without any explanation of what that is, how we get it, how to install a font on our computer, best practices for getting icons and UI templates into XD in general, etc..
It's a super-frustrating user experience to be told "okay try this on your own", struggle and do our best, and then get to the solution and have it be a tool we were never told about or how to use.
I'm really trying to face my dislike of Adobe XD head-on by getting more experience in it, and I need your help to be successful! Thanks, Team.

426 PointsFor people who are still struggling with this issue, here is worked for me:
Step 1: Download and install the Font Awesome icons font - https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/on-the-desktop/setup/getting-started
Step 2: Save your work and restart Adobe XD (This allows the font to be detected by XD)
Step 3: Search FontAwesome.com for your desired icon
Step 4: Copy Unicode Glyph and set your font face in Adobe XD as shown in the video

Treehouse StaffHey John and Darryll,
I'm just seeing this post. But know I'm working on some resources and videos to show you how to work with Font Awesome and how to use it within XD. This will get shared in our Slack first as that's the easiest and quickest way to find and obtain additional resources. Then I'll post it here just in case anyone not apart of our Slack needs it and finally, we'll see about getting a pro video created and placed in between these two videos.
Thank you so much for pointing this out!
