where am i wrong?

Hi!

so i looked this question up and i've seen that there are answers out there. I did exactly how they did it and still it does not work - also on workspapce. my code is here below - please tell me what is the problem.

trial.py 
def add (x, y):
    try:     
    x = float(x)
    y = float(y)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return (x + y)

All that looks wrong is that you forgot to indent the lines in your try block. Remember: Python knows what code goes in what block because of how far it's indented, so it's important that you pay attention to that. This should work:

def add (x, y):
    try:     
        x = float(x)
        y = float(y)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return (x + y)
