Where am I going wrong? trial.py 3 of 3.

def add(num1, num2):
try:
  total = float(num1) + float(num2)
except ValueError:
  return None
else:
  return total

After reformatting your code, the issue is with indentation. If you indent all of the code under the def statement, your code will pass the challenge:

def add(num1, num2):
  try:
    total = float(num1) + float(num2)
  except ValueError:
    return None
  else:
    return total

Hi Landon,

I got this to pass by returning num1 + num2 in the try block with the ValueError returning None. The way your have it should pass as well, might be an indentation error or something.e.g.

def add(num1, num2):
  try:
    return float(num1) + float(num2)
  except ValueError:
    return None
