One of the things I'm currently struggling with as a first time 'wireframer' is really knowing if I know enough about my site to determine if I'm ready to start wireframing... Are there key things to know prior to starting a wireframe???

22,913 PointsYou should have an idea about who the users of the site/app will be - including the average user persona. What are your and the users goals for using your site? What is the path you want/need them to take through your site to reach your and their goal, what content is needed and how can it be intuitive and enjoyable? What are common design patterns users are familiar with for your type of content and purpose of the site.
