When I adjust the browser size with my cursor, my images start to shift around erratically.

Here's my snapshot. My question is in the title.

At first, the images were in two columns but the bottom left image was lower than all the others. Adjusting the margin and width seemed to fix this problem, but now my images shift around erratically as I adjust the size of my browser. Doesn't seem to be working as smoothly as in the video.

Interesting issue. My guess is that the float property might not work correctly if images have different dimension. Currently, the dimension of your images are:

  • cat: 960x640 pixels
  • meerkat: 960x638
  • tiger: 960x637
  • pig: 960x638.

I noticed the issue is resolved when I linked all listed items to the same image.

That was it, thanks! My images were all different sizes so all I needed to do was resize them to all be equal. Good lesson to learn
