6,562 PointsThe float function returns num1 and num2 as floats. The returned value has to be stored somewhere for it to be added.
This is one way:
def add(num1, num2):
num1 = float(num1)
num2 = float(num2)
return num1 + num2
Here's a more compact way:
def add(num1, num2):
return float(num1) + float(num2)
