Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java Strings, Variables, and Formatting

whats wrong with my code

i dont know wats wrong

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
    String firstName="Jonathan";console.printf("Hello,my name is %s\n", firstName);
    console.printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName);

If this is the entire code, you have to initialize and Declare firstName. Initializing is when you "Set" a variable to a value. Declaring is when you ""Declare" what type of variable it is such as int,double,char,String.

So this needs to be above the code that calls firstName

String firstName = "Jonathan";

Hope this helps and good luck in your coding journey!!!

I think you have to clean the mess in your code, give separate lines, for code only to increase the readability, and remove all the preceding whitespaces, and the second line does seem like like is not wanted and redundant, actually it is not second line, as you have continued with the semicolon.
