what's the wrong with the following code?

int value = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine()); Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value)); if ((value < 0) || (value > 20)) Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value)); try { if ((value < Int32.MinValue) || (value > Int32.MaxValue)) throw new System.Exception(); } catch(Exception) { Console.WriteLine("out of range"); }

Program.cs
int value = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine());
Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value));
if ((value < 0) || (value > 20))
    Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value));
try
{
    if ((value < Int32.MinValue) || (value > Int32.MaxValue))
        throw new System.Exception();
}
catch(Exception)
{
    Console.WriteLine("out of range");
}

The instructions tell you to throw an exception, not to catch it. If you remove your try/catch block and just use the first if condition you wrote to throw the exception like this:

int value = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

if ((value < 0) || (value > 20))
    throw new System.Exception();

Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value));

Then your code will pass.
