429 PointsYou can think of spans as SMALL INNER SECTIONS. Mainly for what Steven Parker said. If you have a small section of a paragraph (or any other element) that needs specific styling, but not the entire paragraph, you can wrap that section inside a span.

The word story and only that word will have the CSS style of my-class applied to it.
