I don't understand how i use base to initialize NumSide to 4?
namespace Treehouse.CodeChallenges
{
class Polygon
{
public readonly int NumSides;
public readonly int SideLength;
public Polygon(int numSides)
{
NumSides = numSides;
}
public Square(int sideLength)
{
SideLength = sideLength;
}
}
}

4,358 PointsIf Polygon is your base class, then you want to make sure you have a proper constructor for the class before you can utilize base in another class.
namespace Treehouse.CodeChallenges
{
class Polygon
{
public readonly int NumSides;
public readonly int SideLength;
// working constructor that sets numSides and sideLength
public Polygon(int numSides, int sideLength)
{
NumSides = numSides;
SideLength = sideLength;
}
}
}
Now if you want to be able to create a new class that inherits from Polygon, say Square:
namespace Treehouse.CodeChallenges
{
class Square : Polygon
{
// working constructor that sets numSides and sideLength
public Square(int sideLength) : base(4, sideLength)
{
}
}
}
