I will be making the mobile version of my website right now, could someone please tell me what to keep into consideration with regards to design, css of the mobile version of the website. and could someone also explain to me the key differences between the mobile version of the website vs the desktop version of the website.

6,232 PointsYou may got some mixed responses on this one! I find with mobile it is best to keep it simple, You don't want people having to enlarge their phone screens to read text or having to zoom in to see the buttons. Many of my colleagues start with the mobile version and then start making it suitable for the desktop.
I do the opposite, I have a large monitor and always start with a desktop design, always keeping an eye on what I may do for the mobile version. I often ditch a lot of stuff on the mobile version of the website. If I have a lots of images in nice rows on desktop I may give some images a class to be hidden when the screen is below a certain size, as I don't want to bore visitors with endless scrolling through photos making it hard to get the information they need.
It is worth keeping in mind you can't hover on a mobile either. There seems to be a trend of lots of scrolling style sites now, here is one I really like http://www.shapeshift.co.za/
