12,556 PointsWhen you type in the password after a "sudo" command, the terminal doesn't show the password or * (asterisk characters) back to the users. This is for security reasons.
If you have a Linux or OSX machine and you have "sudo" permissions/access then you will know which password to use. If you don't have "sudo" access then it doesn't matter what the password is.
