2,025 PointsWhat should I do next and tech degree vs. tracks?
I am a Mom and very interested in becoming a programmer. I have finished the digital literacy track and now want to go on from here. Any suggestions as to which track I should do next or should I go right into the techdegree they are offering? I'm unsure whether I want to do front end or back end yet. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

8,772 PointsThe Web Design or Python Tracks would be my suggestion – I'm sure the community will have great recommendations on where to start.

8,723 PointsI tried to do several languages and I found python was the most condusive to learning, mainly because it's simple. Most bootcamps also start using Ruby on Rails, so maybe you can start there. I don't suggest going for the techdegree until you've got a handle on what you want to learn and what pace you can learn at. I spent a lot of time playing around at the beginning until I found what works for me. I'm a mom too and let me tell you that it's more difficult to "make time" that it looks, especially if you're working.
Regarding front or back end, depends on you. I did a UX design course on a nother website and honestly found some of the front-end stuff boring, so I am focusing on the back-end. But...as I am getting more comfortable with the material, I'm thinking to taking a little more time to learn some of the front-end stuff as well, because it will complement my learning nicely.
Best of luck to you and reach out if you ever need moral support!
