4,772 PointsWhat is the reasoning behind creating a new user to access through ssh/sftp?
Is there a special reason to create a new user to access your host with a sftp, Cyberduck in this example? I got my hosting as well as domain from namecheap and simply had to set my hostserver, port, username and password for my cpanel, and then i was good to go (on a safe connection!). I imagined it would be the same if i had bought hosting from fx. BlueHost.
Is there something i'm missing? Or is it convention to seperate the main user (admin) from any users that make changes to the files (i imagine it would be like so, working for a company or with more than one user making changes) ?
