What is the meaning of if (!isset($role))?

Although I understand how the switch works in the code challenge, I don't seem to understand the beginning of the code

if (!isset($role)) {
    $role = 'subscriber';
}

It means if the variable $role is not set, then the we assign it the "subscriber" value? Thank you.

Hi Arikaturika,

You're right. If the $role variable is not set, the value subscriber is assigned to it.
