what is the li:nth-child(1) { } stuff i see in regards to flexbox? in treehouse tutorials all the list have a class

what is the li:nth-child(1) { } stuff i see in regards to flexbox? in treehouse tutorials all the list have a class

should i be giving each list item a class? or referring to them as nth-child.. or am i missing something entirely haha

Using classes and "nth-child" selectors are for achieving a particular result. They are not specifically related to flexbox, and can be used effectively without it.

It is, however, a common technique and the sample code in the courses are examples of that technique.
