948 Pointswhat is the error in my code?
Craig taught us to compare a string variable to a string value, not to another string variable. Here the question is asking us to compare two string variables.
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if ( firstExample.equals("hello") {
console.printf(" first is equal to second");
}

11,437 PointsHey Sho, I think it is asking you to compare firstExample with the secondExample. Right now you are checking if firstExample is equal to the string 'hello'. Also, it looks like you are missing a closing parenthesis for the if statement.
if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)){
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
